Israeli criminal regime kills two in latest violation of Lebanon ceasefire

Israeli forces conducted two deadly attacks in southern Lebanon, killing two people—including a Hezbollah member—despite the ceasefire. Israeli airstrikes also injured ten civilians, including a critically wounded child.

AhlulBayt News Agency: In another clear violation of the fragile ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, Israeli forces carried out two separate attacks in the country’s southern region, killing at least one person in each strike.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, an Israeli airstrike hit a vehicle in the town of Deir Kifa, Tyre district, on Monday, setting the car on fire and killing the occupant.

Local reports later identified the victim as Saeed Ali Haidar, a member of the Hezbollah resistance movement.

Separately, another individual was killed after an Israeli drone fired two missiles at Beit Lif in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh Governorate.

These strikes followed a wave of overnight Israeli attacks across Lebanon on Sunday that left at least ten people injured.

The Ministry of Health, via the official NNA agency, stated that nine civilians were wounded in Israeli strikes on Burj Rahal in Tyre district.

Another child was critically injured in a separate raid that targeted Wadi al-Zararia in Sidon and was admitted to intensive care.

After sustaining significant setbacks over 14 months of hostilities, Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Hezbollah that came into effect on November 27.

Despite the truce, Israel has continued launching airstrikes and incursions into Lebanese territory.

On January 27, Lebanon announced an extension of the ceasefire until February 18.

Although the deadline has passed, Israeli forces still occupy five strategic areas near the border—Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill.

Lebanon has condemned Israel’s continued military presence as a breach of the ceasefire and the agreed withdrawal timeline. Officials in Beirut say they are prepared to take “all necessary measures” to expel Israeli troops.
